Salt shot glasses are consumable in a working bar — they erode, chip and get replaced. A tequila-focused venue that adopts them typically reorders quarterly, which makes this one of the few genuinely recurring lines in the category. Serveware is not dishwasher safe and never will be. A quick wipe with a barely damp cloth is the whole cleaning procedure. Customers who put a salt bowl through a dishwasher will get back a much smaller salt bowl, so the instruction card matters as much here as it does on cooking blocks.
Wet contents left standing will slowly erode the surface. They are intended for dry or lightly moist service — salt flakes, nuts, olives, dips served briefly. For anything wet held for hours, a liner or a different material is the honest recommendation.
